Acceptable Use Policy

This policy describes what you may and may not do when using Wapai. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

1. Prohibited uses

You must not use Wapai to:

  • Spam: Send unsolicited bulk messages to people who have not opted in to receive communications from your business
  • Illegal content: Distribute content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable under UK law
  • Harassment: Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse any individual or group
  • Scraping: Use the platform to collect or harvest data about individuals without their consent
  • Impersonation: Impersonate any person, business, or organisation
  • Malware: Distribute viruses, malware, or any malicious code
  • Illegal businesses: Operate services that are illegal in the UK or in the territory where your customers are located
  • Minors: Market to, or collect data from, children under 16 without appropriate parental consent
  • Financial manipulation: Engage in pump-and-dump schemes, investment fraud, or any form of financial manipulation
  • Platform abuse: Attempt to circumvent usage limits, scrape the Wapai API, or reverse-engineer the Service

2. Content standards

All content transmitted through Wapai (messages, broadcasts, catalogue items, FAQs) must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading
  • Comply with UK advertising standards (ASA guidelines)
  • Respect intellectual property rights — do not copy others' content without permission
  • Be in the language(s) appropriate for your customers
  • Not contain sexual, violent, or discriminatory content
  • Not make health claims that are not approved by appropriate regulatory authorities

You are solely responsible for the content you create and distribute through Wapai.

3. WhatsApp policy compliance

Because Wapai operates via the WhatsApp Business API, you must also comply with Meta's WhatsApp Business Policy:

  • Only message customers who have explicitly opted in to receive WhatsApp messages from your business
  • Respond to customer-initiated messages promptly and helpfully
  • Do not send promotional messages outside approved template categories
  • Do not use WhatsApp to send content prohibited by Meta's policies (drugs, weapons, tobacco, gambling, etc.)
  • Maintain a quality rating — repeated customer blocks or reports may result in your WhatsApp number being suspended by Meta

Violations of WhatsApp's Business Policy are outside our control. Wapai cannot be held responsible for Meta suspending your WhatsApp Business number due to policy violations.

4. Enforcement

If we determine you have violated this policy, we may:

  • Issue a warning and require you to remedy the violation
  • Temporarily suspend your account
  • Permanently terminate your account without refund
  • Report illegal activity to appropriate authorities

We reserve the right to take action without prior notice where we believe there is risk of harm to individuals or to the platform.

5. Reporting violations

If you believe someone is using Wapai in violation of this policy, please report it to us at support@wapai.com with as much detail as possible.

We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly. We will not disclose your identity to the reported party.
